Critical minerals and Tanzania’s place in the energy transition

Gold and gemstones built Tanzania’s mining reputation. The next chapter is being written in minerals that most people never see: the graphite in a battery anode, the nickel and copper in the wiring of an electric vehicle, the lithium in the cell and the rare earths in the motor.

Five minerals, one direction

Graphite

Increasingly important because of its industrial applications and its role in modern energy technologies. We view graphite as a long-term investment sector and welcome opportunities in exploration, project participation, mine development and value addition, particularly where Tanzanian ground can be paired with international processing technology.

Nickel

An industrial and strategic metal with applications from stainless steel to advanced batteries. We seek exploration and development projects where geological potential can be supported by professional technical studies.

Copper

Fundamental to electrification, construction and energy systems. Our interests include copper exploration, copper-associated mineralisation and partnerships where improved exploration and processing could unlock additional value.

Lithium

The shift toward electric mobility and energy storage has raised strategic interest in lithium. We are open to evaluating prospective opportunities that combine exploration, technical development and responsible long-term investment.

Rare earth elements

Essential to advanced manufacturing, electronics and renewable-energy technology. We regard Tanzania’s emerging rare-earth sector as an important area for long-term investment, and participate selectively where geological investigation and development strategy are credible.

What these projects need

Critical-mineral projects are rarely quick. They need patient capital, technical partners who understand processing and product specifications, and a disciplined approach to evaluation before major spending. They also need a credible local partner who understands Tanzania’s licensing, communities and operating environment. That combination of international expertise and Tanzanian ground is precisely the partnership we exist to build.

Bring the capital, technology or market access. We bring the local opportunity, relationships and commitment to execution.
